Atlanta Falcons vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers DFS Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em| October 3, 2024

Tight End Cade Otton

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers travel to Atlanta to take on the Atlanta Falcons in a matchup to see who will take the top of the division. Both teams are winners of two out of their last three games and victors last week. Baker Mayfield has found much success this season and is leading the Bucs to a 3-1 record. The Falcons are still trying to find a rhythm entering the game 2-2, could a win this week propel them into form?

Here are a few of the players that we are leaning on heavily in this game. These players are in a good spot to put together a solid performance and have a favorable matchup.

Tyler Allgeier, Atlanta Falcons ($5K DraftKings and $6K Fanduel)

Tyler Allgeier is a bettor’s dream. Every week his projected line is very low, and he always covers. Last week Tyler Allgeier averaged 7.5 YPC for 60 yards and added 20 yards in the air for 10 fantasy points. Tyler Allgeier is not going to have a crazy game, but with Bijan Robinson dealing with injury Allgeier is a great cheap option.

Drake London, Atlanta Falcons ($6.3K DraftKings and $6.5K Fanduel)

Aside from a rough week 1 game, Drake London has had a great start to the season. London has put up 48.5 fantasy points in the last three games for an average of 16 fantasy points per week. London is averaging six catches per game and 60 yards in the last three games, and he should replicate those stats against the Buccaneers. If London can find the endzone his points will go from 12 to 18, but a 12-point floor is still good.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Atlanta Falcons DFS Sit ‘Ems

On the flip side of things, here are a few of the players we are sitting in this one.

Kyle Pitts, Atlanta Falcons ($4.5K DraftKings and $5.6K Fanduel)

One of the saddest stories in the NFL, Kyle Pitts is an absolute freak athlete, but once again is struggling to find success. Kyle Pitts has 24.5 fantasy points on the season and did not see a ball thrown his way last week against the Saints. The Atlanta Falcons are using Pitts in the slot a lot, and he does not win those matchups. Pitts looks sluggish when running routes, if he does not break this slump it is going to be a long season, sit Pitts.

Mike Evans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers ($7.1K DraftKings and $8.3K Fanduel)

Mike Evans has been hit or miss this season. Evans has two games of 20+ fantasy points and two games of less than seven fantasy points. Mike Evans is currently fighting through a knee/calf injury and did not practice Monday and was limited Tuesday. With this being a Thursday night game and Evans having less time to recover look for this to affect his production.

Total Apex Lock of the Game

Chris Godwin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers ($6.8K DraftKings and $7.1K Fanduel)

Chris Godwin has been great to start the season and is currently ranked as the WR5. Godwin is averaging 19.3 fantasy points per game and has scored in every game except last week. Chris Godwin has been Baker’s go-to receiver, and even though Atlanta has a strong secondary Godwin will still find a way to get open. Godwin is averaging seven catches and 80 yards a game, start Godwin.

Total Apex Fade of the Game

Bijan Robinson, Atlanta Falcons ($7.1K DraftKings and $8.3K Fanduel)

Bijan Robinson has been good to start the season, averaging 14 fantasy points per game, and is currently ranked RB20 (the running back race is so close the RB10 is only 10 points ahead of him). Bijan Robinson has been dealing with injuries his whole NFL career, and this week it is his hamstring. Robinson was limited on Monday and Tuesday, and fully practiced Wednesday. With Tyler Allgeier proving to be a great RB2 the team may opt to feed Allgeier to let Robinson heal up. Bijan Robinson is always very expensive, look for the cheaper option in Allgeier.

Conclusion

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers come into this game banged up. Mike Evans was limited all week, Jalen McMillan and Trey Palmer are out this week, and Chase Edmunds is on the IR. Baker Mayfield will have to lean heavily on Chris Godwin and Rachaad White to move the ball down the field. The Atlanta Falcons offense is getting better, but they still haven’t hit their stride. With the Falcons at home and the Buccaneers injured the Falcons have every reason to take home the win.
