The second leg of this week’s Monday Night Football doubleheader features the Washington Commanders taking on the Cincinnati Bengals. The winless Bengals come home after last week’s narrow defeat to the Chiefs and are looking to avoid an 0-3 start. The pricing listed is for the feature Monday Night slate including both games.
Commanders vs. Bengals DFS Start ‘Ems
Here are a few of the players that we are leaning on heavily in this game. These players are in a good spot to put together a solid performance and have a favorable matchup.
Jamar Chase ($75k DraftKings and $86k Fanduel)
Tee Higgins is trending towards playing this week and that should take some of the defensive focus off Jamar Chase. He showed some life last week with Burrow’s improved play and he gets the weak Commanders secondary. Chase has some good metrics there with a 91% catch rate and 9.7 yards per reception. Fantasy managers are all waiting for Chase to pop and this could and should be the week.
Brian Robinson Jr. (59k DraftKings and $7k Fanduel)
Brian Robinson is the key to a Washington victory on the road. If the Commanders can establish him it keep their worst unit off the field. Robinson comes in top 10 in missed tackles and top 5 in explosive runs. Robinson was lights out last week against the Giants with 17 carries for 133 yards. The best stat for us was the 7.8 yards per attempt. A run game is a young quarterback’s best friend and this type of performance will only make Daniels better. Start Brian Robinson Jr. this week.
Commanders vs. Bengals DFS Sit ‘Ems
On the flip side, here are a few players we recommend sitting in this one.
Austin Ekeler ($57k DraftKings and $61k Fanduel)
Austin Ekeler is the odd man out for us this week. The Bengal’s defense was top 10 last year against receptions allowed to running backs. We are sitting Ekeler in week three as he was out-touched and out-produced by Brian Robinson Jr. last week.
Chase Brown ($46k DraftKings and $52k Fanduel)
This was a tough one but we can not recommend using Chase Brown and his 27% snap rate outside deeper season-long leagues. Brown just is not getting the touches to be a viable fantasy option. Through two games he has 10 touches for 54 yards and 8.4 fantasy points. We do feel Brown might be a key to jump-starting the Bengals offense with his big play ability, but he is a sit until he garners more snaps.
Total Apex Lock of the Game
Joe Burrow ($61k DraftKings and $75k Fanduel)
Joe Burrow looked much better last week going 23-36 for 258 yards and two touchdowns. This he gets the porous Commander’s defense. Washington’s defense is bottom six in yards per attempt allowed and ranks 32nd in passer rating allowed. This matchup sets up nicely for Burrow with the Commanders allowing the most fantasy points per passing. We will keep targeting this porous commander secondary in fantasy and no better place than our lock play.
Total Apex Fade of the Game
Mike Gesicki ($36k DraftKings and 53k Fanduel)
We are not going to chase points with Mike Gesecki this week. Higgins could be back and this game sets up more for the Bengal wideouts. If the Washington defense has a strength, it is versus the tight end. Last season they were inside the top 10 in receptions and receiving yards allowed.
Conclusion
This game sets up nicely to be a great fantasy option for daily and season-long fantasy managers. The 47-point implied total is top four amongst the week three slate and both teams feature an implied team total of 20 or higher. Keep in mind with the doubleheader, fantasy players will have the option to play a single game or a combo slate Monday night.
