San Francisco 49ers vs. Los Angeles Rams DFS Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em| September 22, 2024

49ers

A classic NFC West matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams in SoFi Stadium has the Rams looking to get their first win on the season, while the 49ers try to get ahead in the win column. Both squads have star players missing time in this divisional matchup. For the 9ers Ward, Bosa, Samuel, and Kittle are all listed as questionable or doubtful for this Sunday. For the Rams Nacua, Kupp, and Johnson are all questionable or injured. Who will step up for both sides on Sunday?

Here are a few of the players that we are leaning on heavily in this game. These players are in a good spot to put together a solid performance and have a favorable matchup.

Brandon Aiyuk ($6.2K DraftKings and $6.5K Fanduel)

Brandon Aiyuk has been lackluster to start this season, but with the stars all over the 49ers offense, it is hard to feed every mouth. Brandon Aiyuk has six receptions for 71 yards and has not found the endzone thus far this season. With the injuries to the offense, Brandon Aiyuk should be a focal point this week. The 49ers have relied on Jordan Mason to handle the workload, but with key receivers out Aiyuk should be the main target for passes.

Kyren Williams ($7.1K DraftKings and $7.5K Fanduel)

Kyren Williams has had a solid start to the season averaging just under 15 fantasy points per game. The Rams are feeding Kyren Williams the ball so far, averaging around 18 touches per game. With Cooper Kupp dealing with injuries, the Rams will keep feeding Kyren until they find success. Williams has not had the most efficient numbers, but he is moving the ball, nonetheless. This 49ers defense is tough, but Kyren has found the endzone in his first two games, let’s hope he finds his way in again.

On the flip side of things, here are a few of the players we are sitting in this one.

Matthew Stafford ($5.7K DraftKings and $7.1K Fanduel)

Matthew Stafford has had a tough start to the season for the Rams. Stafford has a 1/1 touchdown-interception ratio and did not find the endzone in week two against the Cardinals. Matthew Stafford is a great player but is averaging just over 10 points per game through two weeks. This 49ers defense is no joke, they rank at the top of almost every defensive statistic. With Cooper Kupp dealing with injury look for the Rams to run the ball heavy.

Deebo Samuel ($7.1K DraftKings and $7.7K Fanduel)

Deebo Samuel is the leading receiver for the 49ers and has had two stellar performances to start the season scoring 18 fantasy points in both games. Deebo is currently dealing with a calf injury did not practice Thursday and is currently listed as doubtful for the game Sunday. Deebo Samuel is one of the elite receivers in the league, but has a history of injuries so look for the 49ers to minimize his usage to let him heal.

Jordan Mason ($6.2K DraftKings and $8.3K Fanduel)

What a story. The Georgia Tech alumni was not the likely favorite to be the starting running back for the 49ers at the start of the season. Jordan Mason is averaging just under 20 fantasy points per game and is the RB7. The Rams’ defense allowed 41 points last week to a Cardinals team that shocked everyone. The Rams have still not found a replacement for Aaron Donald, so Jordan Mason should run wild against the Rams.

Total Apex Fade of the Game

Rams Defense ($2.3K DraftKings and $3.4K Fanduel)

The Rams defense is having an identity crisis. Last week the Cardinals put up 41 points on the Rams’ defense which allowed 489 total yards and five touchdowns. The Rams’ defense could not stop the air or the ground attack. Marvin Harrison Jr. went for 130 receiving yards and two touchdowns and James Conner added 122 rushing yards and a touchdown. The 49ers may have stars down, but they are still a high-powered offense.

Conclusion

The Rams are in a tough spot and are trying to find themselves. The 49ers have all the ingredients to make it back to the Super Bowl, but with key players injured that may spoil the fun. Jordan Mason and Brandon Aiyuk should carry the offense this week for the 9ers while Kyren Williams should see heavy touches to try and break down the 49ers’ defense.
