In their Week 2 matchups, the San Francisco 49ers vs. Vikings, will be a battle of two 1-0 teams on Sunday, September 15th. The 49ers are coming off a Monday night victory against the New York Jets without their star running back Christian McCaffrey. The Vikings also took care of business against the New York Giants manhandling them every step of the way.
These two teams faced off last season with both teams, missing key players, but the Vikings came out on top in primetime. This time will look much different with the Vikings trotting out former 49ers quarterback Sam Darnold to start this one. Much like last year, this game will have some impactful players injured.

Here are some players we are focusing our attention on for this game. These players have an opportunity to make an impact and put up big numbers in this one.
Justin Jefferson, Wide Receiver, Minnesota Vikings (Draft Kings: $8.3K, Fanduel: $8.9K)
Justin Jefferson is almost a lock to start every week regardless of who his quarterback is. He is a reliable every-week starter after what he accomplished last season with four different quarterbacks. The game script is important in this one with the 49ers being favored on the road. Look for the Vikings to hit Jefferson early and often in this one, especially with fellow receiver Jordan Addison possibly out.
Brock Purdy, Quarterback, San Francisco 49ers (Draft Kings: $6.1K, Fanduel $7.3K)
The 49ers were able to run the ball very effectively last week but this week could look a little different. Purdy will be relied on more with the Vikings’ run defense more stout than the Jets. The secondary is more of a weak spot for the Vikings so Purdy should be able to find his spots to hurt them down the field. Purdy struggled in this game last year but Kyle Shanahan will have a different plan this time.

Sam Darnold, Quarterback, Minnesota Vikings (Draft Kings: $5.2K, Fanduel $6.8K)
Sam Darnold had a great week one against the Giants. Unfortunately, he gets one of the best defenses in the league in week two. The 49ers defense gave Aaron Rodgers all kinds of problems in week one. Even though it’s a home game for Darnold, this 49ers defense is relentless and will likely force him into a few turnovers.
Jauan Jennings, Wide Receiver, San Francisco 49ers (Draft Kings: $4.3K, Fanduel $4.9K)
Jennings had a solid week one against the Jets on Monday night. He popped up on the injury report though and was limited in practice. The 49ers plan to utilize Brandon Aiyuk more in this game which, will take some targets away from Jennings. He can be comfortably left out of lineups in this one.

Deebo Samuel, Wide Receiver, San Francisco 49ers (Draft Kings: $6.8K, Fanduel $7.3K)
Deebo Samuel saw his targets and touches go up with Christian McCaffrey out, and this week will be no different. He was targeted nine times, carried the ball eight times, and had a rushing touchdown. Jordan Mason will get his fair share of touches, but Deebo Samuel’s playmaking ability with the ball in his hands is a game-changer for the 49ers in this game.

Jordan Addison, Wide Receiver, Minnesota Vikings (Draft Kings: $5.2K, Fanduel $5.7K)
Jordan Addison went off in this game last season with over 100 yards and two touchdowns. That won’t happen this time around, unfortunately. He went into week one with a bum ankle and injured the other ankle during the game. He may play through the injury or he may be ruled out. He won’t be 100 percent if he plays so he needs to be sat this week.
